Hi there, I’m Sofía
Managing projects. A parent. An expatriate living in Barcelona, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many relocation experiences, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and started building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Shadow Grove Stud
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Covers (And What It Does Not)
This site Includes:
- Practical experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when real changes occur
This site Does Not Include:
- A tourism authority resource
- Paid-for review platform
- A generic travel diary
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofía
